Webmentions Protocol
A decentralized protocol enabling open-source interactions across independent websites. Webmentions let XSP receive and display likes, reposts, and replies sent by other corners of the personal web.
// SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS
What is a Webmention?
It's a modern, open standard (W3C Recommendation) that notifies one site when another site links to it. If you write a blog post linking to any article or log entry on XSP, your publishing platform sends a webmention signal to my endpoint.
How to Participate
1. Publish: Write a response to any post on your own website, including a link to the target page on xstaticprocess.dev.
2. Ping: If your system doesn't send webmentions automatically, paste your response URL into the "Send a Signal" form at the bottom of that specific post.
3. Render: Once processed by Webmention.io, your avatar, name, and comment snippet will dynamically render on the article page!
Supported Signals
- Likes — Added to the post's dynamic facepile.
- Reposts — Tracked as syndication logs.
- Dispatches — Full comment snippets with verified authors.
